You tube from Google, Seehaha from Shenzhen

Seehaha, a podcast hosting service named in Knowledge@Wharton article and provides live videocasting service for Chinese Blogger Conference 2005, launched in last summer. It was formerly known as Showhaha, is one of the first Chinese podcasting services.

Seehaha allows users to upload unlimited video podcasts and convert them into flash format, as Youtube. The podcasts then can be embedded into blogs or other websites by adding a piece of scripts. And a 3GP format is also available to be download(currently, unable to download due to website error) and transfer to mobile phone. Of course, RSS, tag, contacts and user voting, all these web2.0 features are available.

For convenient video publishing, Seehaha allows users to use webcam to record and upload videos directly in Seehaha or in their blogs by using API of Seehaha. In addition to it, users can even broadcast live show on their blogs or websites by adding scripts into blogs...........

Sunday is Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. What is Pinhole Photography?

"Pinhole photography is similar to 'common photography' in most respects but differs in that the camera used has no lens. Instead, it has a very small aperture which projects an image upon the sensitized material (film or paper). More...."

The WPPD site has extensive resources and event listings where you can find a workshop near you.

There are a few things that we, as a blogger should noted:
1. What kind of behavious that make them suspect that this blog is made by a spam robot.
2. How to unlock the site, what they need the blogger to do?
3. How this behavious affect the internet and why they exsist?

Search Engine- web search

I want to remind you that when we are saying "search" we mean web search and not limited search on a particular sponsored server or link such as this which already stated that they will search 1 billion web pages, that means not all web pages.

There are at least two things you want to know about search :
1. If you know the mechanism in search engines, you can easily use the right keywords to reach your target audience. Submission tips

2. In order to find the right info / resources/ person. Many web search have unique features or special source, get the tips in doing your search

Is there any things we learn from search? Here is some further readings:

1. The Google Story
2. The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture
by John Battelle

Here is another web search that is not included in the serachenginewatch.com, the features of this search (listed on the right hand side) includes specific search for map, weather, but unfortunately it is only for US. There is a download program that help to search your computer. Do you need it ? Who will need them ? Anyone knows?

Mission's statement----specific

This lesson we are stepping into our blog (also it is your homework to write down the followings) :
1. Create your mission statement- be specific, practical
2. What resources you seek to achieve it interactively?
3. Who is your target audience? How to market your blog? What word to choose for the header, title?
4. What style you want? What color, which photo, header?

Both item 2 & 3 requires a lot of research (which means search and evaluation).

Today at class Justin shared with us:
Mission :Blog as a platform, rebuilding the linkage between my students in HK & Australia.
Resources seek:
-post photos
-ref: google family tree
-skype
-ichat/ MSN

Research : PC game website research
Possible interactivity:

-grading/ criticism
hw: create an interesting title

catcat:
Mission :"Food & Routes for Motorcyclist"- map out the good food places for bikers

new ideas:
New Map culture (geo social)--> http://greatmap.blogspot.com, Google map, Platial.com
side thought : explore the new mapping culture intellectually and philosophically- Ref : Situationis, Locative media

ar yin:
A) Kwun Tong under recontruction
-preserve old attractions
-->memory of the district
-->significant record (e.g. photo) of the changes (that support your view/ judgement)
What can be the links?

B)"Tea art"

C's father- Ah Tat
Mission : To tell the technical know how of Ceramic (technical support)
So target audeince, how to plan your research.
